Congratulations RCMP Chaplain Bill Ashbee

Chaplain Bill Ashbee whose roots are planted in my home province of MB, has been spreading joy and encouragement to police officers in BC for many years. The fruit of his labor and his close walk with God has opened a door for a new position within the RCMP "E" Division. Bill steps in to fill the BC RCMP Chaplain Coordinator position recently vacated by our dear friend Chaplain Jim Turner (post to come). On behalf of the CPCA Executive, I offer heartfelt congratulations; God has placed you in this position for such a time as this.

Here are the words written by RCMP S/SGT Frank Jang regarding his relationship with Bill; they ring of honor and respect:

"It is a pleasure to come to work and be greeted by my good friend and new Chaplain Bill Ashbee. Bill took on the role last month and now leads a team of 35 chaplains serving RCMP detachments throughout BC (Canada). Previously, he was a volunteer chaplain to the Langley RCMP since 2008 and the Pastor of Care Ministries at Christian Life Assembly (CLA) in Langley, BC."

"Bill and his wife, Bona Jean, have been married for 45 years and have 2 adult sons and 5 grandchildren.

Under Bill's leadership, the BC RCMP Chaplain Program continues to support the emotional and spiritual wellness of officers, employees and their families. It is expanding to become spiritually diverse and inclusive."

"By God's grace, Bill will do a terrific job in providing care to thousands who have been called to this demanding profession."
