Annual General Meeting Update
On behalf of the CPCA National Leadership Team, I'd like to express my appreciation to our CPCA members (Full & Affiliate) who took the time to join us on Zoom, October 29, 2026. There were items up for election that required your participation, and I'm excited to announce that all items received unanimous votes.
Congratulations on the election of our new Secretary/Treasurer Chaplain Robert Parmenter. You will recall that Robert served on our Executive in the past as 2nd Vice President and 1st Vice President. He has and continues to serve as Chair of our Constitution Revision Committee. Robert is a man of detail with administrative giftings that will serve our membership very well. Robert has the heart of a servant. Welcome back Robert to our team as an Executive Officer.
I'd like to express my gratitude for our outgoing Secretary/Treasurer Phil Sovdi. Phil has served us with excellence over the past four years. His attentiveness to our investments and accounts were second to none. Each month he provided the team with professionally documented statistics in the form of a detailed financial report. Our team will miss Phil at our monthly Zoom meetings. We bless him and release him for his next season doing what the Lord has called him and his wife Linda to do.
Robert Parmenter and our CPCA ON Regional Director Charles Swartwood worked throughout the year to provide proposed changes to our CPCA Constitution. The changes were voted upon and accepted unanimously by our membership. Our newly revised Constitution may be viewed at this link.
Thank you again to our CPCA members who attended our AGM. Your National Leadership Team look forward to serving you in 2026/2027. For details on our 2027 National Training Seminar at the Toronto Police Service, please check out this link. Information is limited to the dates and hotel.
Many blessings,
Bruce Ewanyshyn
CPCA President & ICPC Director of Region 1
