Navigate Burnout and Compassion Fatigue: Learn to RESET for Resilience

As police chaplains, we are familiar with terms such as compassion fatigue and burnout, and we know the value of building resilience. However, how many of us have simple strategies to to combat fatigue and burnout while building resiliency? Are you ready to increase the arsenal of tools you carry to promote resiliency and foster personal wellness? If so, this CPCA training webinar "RESET" is for YOU! If not for yourself, then consider attending to learn strategies you can share with the police officers you serve. Either way, this webinar will be time well invested.

I'm excited to announce that on July 17th, I will be hosting a CPCA training webinar with special presenter Lisa Boehm. Lisa is an international speaker and facilitator who helps organizations manage grief and burnout and become more resilient through her presentations and workshops. At 11 AM Alberta/Saskatchewan (CST) Time on July 17th, police chaplains have an opportunity to take part in a 2 - hour interactive keynote designed to help chaplains and support professionals understand the signs of burnout, acknowledge emotional strain, and walk away with a sustainable framework to build resilience.

The Key Objectives to this training opportunity:

• Recognize signs and symptoms of burnout and compassion fatigue

• Normalize the emotional toll of caring for others

Learn the RESET method to rebuild energy, focus, and purpose

Walk away with simple tools that create meaningful long-term change

The emphasis of Lisa's presentation will be the provision of actionable strategies to prevent burnout, foster emotional resilience, and protect mental health in high-compassion roles. CPCA members have received prior instruction on compassion fatigue; however, this presentation will focus on the "RESET" through simple tools that if incorporated into our daily lives will create meaningful long-term change. Are you ready for an increase in the tools you carry to foster resiliency and wellness? Lisa is ready to assist with simple strategies that work and to provide answers to your questions during this interactive presentation on ZOOM.

Lisa Boehm’s life changed forever when her daughter died suddenly in a car accident. She quickly discovered that our society struggles with death, loss, and grieving and has made it her mission to change that. She wrote Journey to Healing, a book dedicated to mothers who have lost child, has written numerous articles for magazines, and trained with David Kessler to become a certified grief educator. Lisa is also the creator of the Grief & Child Loss Podcast where she helps bereaved moms carry their pain AND discover joy again.

There is a minimal cost to attending this Zoom Event. Once a "ticket" is purchased, a Zoom link will be emailed to you from CPCA President Bruce Ewanyshyn 24 hours prior to the Webinar. Note: there is a 50% discount applied to all CPCA members in good standing (2025 membership fee paid). This training is available at regular cost to non-CPCA members.

This is a training presentation. Therefore, upon conclusion of this webinar, participants will receive a CPCA Certificate from the CPCA Registrar Dave Field. Participants who are CPCA members will receive credit on their training record. In addition, President Bruce Ewanyshyn will send participants a downloadable slide deck following the presentation.

*** Our presenter has given permission to record this training session to share with chaplains who register but are unable to attend the webinar. The recording will not be rebroadcasted or made available to chaplains who do not register for this training prior to July 17th. Since Lisa is a "resilience strategist" and this is an interactive presentation, those who are able to attend will benefit the most from the webinar ***
