About the Event

“Trauma is not what happens to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness.” -  Peter A. Levine

This webinar will empower you to continue to be a compassionate witness and will provide helpful interventions and practical suggestions to use when your colleagues are suffering. There is an Indian Proverb that states: We are a house of four rooms – a physical, social, emotional and spiritual. Unless we visit each room, even if it is just to air it out….we are not whole. This workshop will demonstrate how to walk with our coworkers as they visit each room to help come to terms with the suffering they witness.

Self care is essential to provide and receive compassionate care. This workshop will also provide direct and clear suggestions and actions in order to provide compassionate self care to our co workers and ourselves. Current information and research on trauma and the need for self care will be a focus of the presentation. “Self-care is never a selfish act - it is simply good stewardship of the only gift I have, the gift I was put on earth to offer others. Anytime we can listen to true self and give the care it requires, we do it not only for ourselves, but for the many others whose lives we touch.” Parker Palmer.
